Ladies, Gentlemen... I have an idea.

Let's have an RPG. Let's just have one. We can use this thread to suss out the details, but let's not spend a week debating it like we have in the past.

I promised a long time ago that we would one day do an RPG where we all talked epically, and I think I've found a way to make that work.

The storyline (such as it is) is this: dozens of aliens, predators, humans, synthetics and whatever the hell else get nabbed from across time and space to fight to the death on a gladiatorial reality show created by bored celestial beings. We're all fitted with translation devices that allow us to understand each other, but the devices might occasionally glitch, which could make for some funny moments.

The emphasis here is on fun, so let's just shoot for balls-to-the-wall batshit insanity. We could even have the environment randomly change, or maybe have forcefields separating completely different biomes...

What do you guys think? Let's hear some ideas. I AM HIGH WITH NOSTALGIA, AND REQUIRE MENTAL LOVEMAKING.

I like this idea, I must say. Not too often that you see intentional batshit crazy anymore it seems, so I'm game for that and the celestialishness sounds kind of cool to me. So it's kind of like the original Star Trek Episodes Arena(the one where with the Gorn) and Bread and Circuses(the one where they fight and dress like gladiators on alien TV), yes?

Edit: So would this also be the one where everyone gets species swapped, because if so would other sapient species could possibly be included in the randomization of character species from the Alien a Predator universes maybe? I dunno, just a thought.

This sounds a little like a bout in the spar chamber I had with alien 6 where we were pitted against each other in a labyrinth style arena. Except without translation collars and flying spaghetti monsters. We never finished it as he just mysteriously disappeared.

Well I am looking forward to this so when do we start? So this will be 1v1 with a few 1v1v1 and 1v1v1v1s along the way. we should organise who fights who based on points high v high and low v low. tournament style.

We could take it a step farther and have it as a multiple dimension tournament with various version of our characters and even having us use completely new characters.

This sounds really cool, but I feel like telling people to go batshit insane will come up with a lot of shitposting. (I'm not proud of some of my posts in the bar thread, and all of The Rain...)

But, I'll play as my old character, the one before I started playing as a Queen.

So i feel like we're coming to the decision that "ridiculous" does NOT mean "random".

No talking burritos, No crates of lemon flavored bubble cum, No 12 tons of midget porn.

I feel this should be a tread of excess, 12 page fights, hours of dialogue.

I don't think Clans would function in this, since we'd still be Aliens, Predators and Humans(and maybe an Engineer?) and unless they had mind control the Xenomorphs would fight everyone and the Humans and Yautja even though more likely to team up would probably fight each other too.

As for twelve page fights and the excessive dialog, I'd be game for that though leaning more towards the dialog personally as I've fought wars worth of fights in my RPing so they don't have the same excitement for me anymore.

Also, space dinosaurs(as I've said in the past) could be a thing, since Yautja hunted Dinosaurs and if I knew these really fun things to kill were going to get wiped out, I'd totally nab some and toss them on another planet. It goes with the gladiator thing since fearsome beasts were flung into the arena on occasion. Just an idea of course.

Clans would still work if we used them. It's a fighting tournament - Xenos working together isn't that big of a stretch compared to those same Xenos speaking fluent English to each other.

Edit: Wait, Xenos not fighting each other isn't even a "stretch," it's actually canon because Xenos being on "teams" was already established in Aliens.

Personally I don't think I'd participate, simply because the idea of Xenomorphs being able to communicate with other species just doesn't sit well with me and I prefer more serious RPGs myself.

Also, I'm interested, Tawganator, in who you'd be interested in fighting from the Hive. You can always start a spar with them in the Sparring Chamber.

What I meant by Clans not working is, that if we kept everyone from one clan together and then swapped all of their species, that wouldn't work. Because if say, Hunters Moon I was turned into a Human and concrete into a Xeno we'd be trying to kill each other.

Now if we made the newly swapped people into temporary Clans for the duration of this, so everyone turned into Xenomorphs were in a Clan now, everyone turned into Yautja in one Clan , all the people turned into Humans in a Clan,and whatever else we could get turned into their respective Clans as well.

You know what? I'm in. And I'm going to be doing funny in the most realistic way for a Xenomorph.
