i beleive they use the slime that drips from their mouths

i think its thier saliva whitch slowly hardens

I think it has something to do with the slim they use over their bodies to protect themselves from their own blood.

Secrete resin from the mouth. It's a different substance from the saliva, otherwise they would be creating the stuff everywhere they went unwillingly.

I read somewhere that the tubes along their back creat the resin. But this is just something I read.
