i dont claim to have written this, or claim credit for its creation, but i just thought someone might want to know :¬)

Aaron, Francis

A warden of the Fiorina 161 correctional facility, he was assistant to superintendent Andrews of the prison. Aaron was known for being a follower, and almost always wore a baseball cap. Aaron was also called "85" by the other inmates, since that was his IQ on company file. Aaron was killed by a team of Marines that were hired by Weyland-Yutani, after he clubbed the man Michael Bishop in the back of the head with a wrench. (A3): Played by Ralph Brown.

Acheron (LV426)

The site of the first documented encounter with the Xenomorphs in 2122. LV426 (Acheron) is the second moon of the fourth planet orbiting the G1 V class star Zeta 2 Reticuli. LV426 is 12,201km in diameter, consisting of alimunim silicates and magnesium silicates for a crust. Prior to human colonization. LV426 was renamed Acheron by the humans who settled there. (A, A2SE)

Andrews, Harold

Superintendent for the Fiorina 161 correctional facility, Andrews maintained order in the prison, acting as the highest-ranking official there. Andrews also acted as "rumour control" for the facility, giving the other inmates the facts, to keep rumours and chaos at a minimum. Andrews was killed by an alien running amok in the prison when it reached out of an airshaft and pulled him up into it as he was doing "rumour control". (A3): Played by Brian Glover.

Apone, Al, Master Sgt

Second in command for the team of Colonial Marines deployed to investigate the communications cut-off with LV426. He was known for smoking cigars. Apone was captured and presumably impregnated with an alien on LV426. (A2SE): Played by Al Matthews.

Arcturian Poon'tang

Presumably sex with extraterrestrial animal of some kind, Pvt Frost was seen mumbling about wanting some Arcturian Poon'tang after waking up from cold sleep before his mission to LV426. (A2SE)

Armoured Personnel Carrier (APC)

The M577 APC was designed as a lightweight low-cost vehicle which could be stored onboard a drop ship for easy transport. The chassis is made of bonded titanium, with a ground clearance of 22cm. The M577 APC has a crew of two; a driver and a section commander, and can have a maximum of 12 passengers. The interior of the APC is also very spacious, allowing for room for weapons and equipment storage. The rear of the crew compartment houses the Tactical Operations centre, where the section commander can view sensor screens and maintain contact with the onboard infantry. Weapons onboard the APC include dual front-mounted RE700 20mm Gatling cannon, and a rear-mounted turret which moves on rails which run down the back of the APC. The turret can be one of three variants: M577 A, which is a phased plasma cannon, M577 A1, which is a pair of free-electron lasers, or M577 A2, which is a charged particle beam cannon. (A2SE)

Arthur

One of 25 custodial inmates at Fiorina 161. Arthur was killed in an explosion of toxic waste when the prisoners were trying to kill an alien running loose in the complex. (A3): Played by Dhobi Oparei.

Ash 120A-2

A synthetic human and chief Science Officer onboard the Nostromo, he was a replacement for the ship's previous Science Officer, and was placed onboard the Nostromo after its stop at Thetis. Ash then tried to protect the alien that was brought on board the Nostromo by mistake, and then tried to kill the crew. Ash was stopped by Chief Engineer Parker, who knocked Ash's head back with a fire extinguisher, and then burned his remains with an incinerator. (A): Played by Ian Holm.

Atmosphere Processor

A cone-shaped tower about 1,500 meters high, it draws in the planetary atmosphere, where waste products, such as carbon, are drawn off, while useful gases like nitrogen, oxygen, or hydrogen are pumped back into the atmosphere. Weyland-Yutani manufactures atmosphere processors, to fulfil their slogan of "building better worlds". Atmosphere processors are highly explosive if the cooling units are ruptured. (A2SE)

Auriga

A large military research vessel stationed in unregulated space just outside the orbit of Pluto,, it housed a cloning facility where Ellen Ripley was cloned for the Queen alien inside her, 200 years after her death, around 2385. When multiple warrior aliens broke from their holding cells on the Auriga, it was evacuated, and auto piloted itself back to Earth. The Auriga crashed into the atmosphere above Africa, destroying the ship. (A4)

AutoChef

The food dispenser in the messes of many starships in the 22nd century and can supply most foods, along with additional vitamin supplements. Future variations of the Autochef allows food and drink to be stored in small capsules and be made edible by passing it through a laser. Such a system was installed on the Auriga. (A,A2SE, A3, A4)

AutoDoc

The medical computer employed on commercial starships in the 22nd century, especially useful in the absence of a qualified medical officer. Even when one was present, such as Ash the Autodoc served other purposes, such as an automated scanning and prognosis machine. (A,A2SE, A3, A4)

Auton

Also known as Second Gens, these were andriods designed and built by other andriods, meaning they were significantly more advanced. Autons passed as humans much more easily than normal andriods, as proved by CALL, who was only discovered to be an Auton when she was shot in the stomach by WREN and began to bleed white blood. Autons were found to be too emotional and uncontrollable, so were recalled. Some escaped the purge, including Call. (A4)

Facehugger

Parasitic lifeform the aliens use to impregnate their victims with alien embryos. Facehuggers have eight three-knuckle legs used to wrap around a victim's head, a long prehensile tail they use to wrap around a victim's neck to prevent the facehugger from being removed from the victim, and a tube that extends from the facehugger's underbelly. This tube goes down the target's throat, and deposits an embryo in their chest. Facehuggers are born inside eggs, which are laid by the Queen, with one facehugger per egg, and one embyro per facehugger. When a facegugger is laying an embryo inside a host, a process which takes anywhere between a few hours to a few days, the facehugger replaces its own skin with silicon to protect itself from the elements. After an embryo has been implanted, the facehugger dies. There are three types of facehuggers, each one depositing one of three alien embryos: drone alien, as seen in the incident in Hadley's Hope, Queen alien, as seen in Hadley's Hope and on the Auriga, and warrior alien, as seen on the Auriga, on Fiorina 161, and on the Nostromo. (A, A2SE, A3, A4)

Father

The controlling Artificial Intelligence onboard the Auriga military research ship, Father controlled all automated systems onboard the ship. After aliens infested the Auriga, smuggler Call overrode Father's command and took control of all door lock mechanisms, clearing a way to the Betty, a smuggling ship, and then later crashed the Auriga. (A4)

Ferro, Colette Cpl.

Ferro was the primary pilot for dropship #1, used to deploy the Marines to the Hadley's Hope complex on LV426. Ferro had the quote "fly the friendly skies" on the front-right side of her helmet. She was killed by an alien that was mistakenly let onboard dropship #1 when it was sent to pick up the surviving Marines. (A2SE): Played by Colette Hiller.

Fiorina "Fury" 161

A prison planet containing a double-Y chromosome maximum security facility built by Weyland-Yutani. The prison originally has an inmate count of over 5000, but after the Company tried to shut the facility down, 23 inmates and 2 wardens opted to stay behind, as custodians. These people included Arthur, Boggs, Christopher, Clemens, David, Dillon, Ed, Eric, Frank, Gillas, Golic, Gregor, Janni, Jude, Kevin, Lawrence, Martin, Morse, Murphy, Rains, Troy, Vincent and Willaim and 2 custodians, Aaron and Andrews. In 2185, an EEV unit containing Ellen Ripley crashed at the prison, and an alien was accidentally let loose in the facility, getting bred from prisoner Murphy's dog. The prison was shut down within 24 hours when the alien was destroyed, Ripley died, and all the prisoners except for Morse were killed. (A3)

Flamethrower

The M240 flamethrower, in use by the USCM, is a lightweight, carbine-format flamethrower which uses pressurized, ultra-thickened napthal fuel as a base and gnited by a nozzle burner. The M240 can fire a burst of flame at targets up to 30 meters away. Once a target is hit, fuel droplets will remain on the target for about 30 seconds. However, the M240 is vulnerable to small-arms fire, as the fuel reservoir is known to explode violently when hit. Another flamethrower model is the M210, which is mounted on the right arm of MAX units. (A2SE, CMTM, A4, B)

Fontaine, Trish

The grad student working under Wren on board the Auriga on the project to clone Ripley and thus clone a QUEEN. She was killed on the Auriga. (A4) Played by Marlene Bush.

Frank

One of 25 custodial prisoners who worked at the Fiorina 161 correctional facility. Frank was killed during the preparations for capturing an alien running loose in the complex, when toxic waste was being spread along some of the corridors. Frank was holding a flare when the alien killed him from above, causing him to drop the flare and cause a massive explosion, resulting in the deaths of 10 inmates. (A3): Played by Carl Chase.

Frost, Ricco, Pvt

Private Frost was one of the Marines deployed to LV426 in the Sulaco. Frost always had a bad feeling about any drop, and on the trip to LV426, he was right, when he was incinerated and sent down a shaft when Cpl. Dietrich pulled the trigger on her M240 flamethrower, setting Frost on fire. (A2SE): Played by Ricco Ross.

Egg

The first stage of the alien's lifecycle consists of an egg. The eggs are complex organisms in themselves. They are responsible for maintaining life support for the larva for an indefinite amount of time, and must recognize a potential host and distinguish it from valid members of the nest. Eggs are initially created inside a queen alien. The egg itself is a leathery object 2.5 feet tall. The egg can survive for an undetermined length of time in various environments, it appears and it is flammable, and unarmoured. The egg detects when a host is proximal by sound and/or movement. As this happens, some sort of liquid seems to drip upwards, and small bumps appear as the egg comes to live, awakened by the chance to continue it's lifecycle. The petals at the top of the egg open, preparing for the next stage as the face-hugger. (A, A2SE, A3, A4, AvP)

Elgyn, Frank, Cpt

Captain of the Betty, a smuggling ship, Elgyn was killed by an alien onboard the Auriga, who pulled him through some floor grating and shot its inner set of jaws through his spine, killing him instantly. (A4): Played by Michael Wincott

Emergency Escape Vehicle (EEV)

The type-337 EEV unit is capable of carrying 5 people. It is 13.2 meters long, and configured in the shape of an "L". EEVs allow cryotubes to be placed directly into the EEV from the mothership should the mothership take extensive damage. The USS Sulaco carried 20 type-337 EEVs, enough for 100 people. An EEV containing Cpl. Hicks, Lt. Ripley, and the colonist Newt Jorden crash-landed on Fiorina 161, killing Newt and Hicks in the process. (A3)

Eric

Eric was the cook at the Fiorina 161 correctional facility, as well as one of its 25 custodial inmates. He was killed by an alien that got loose in the prison. (A3): played by Niall Buggy

Dallas, Captain

Captain onboard the freighter Nostromo, Dallas made the choice to land on LV426 to investigate the mysterious signal originating from a derelict spacecraft. Later, when an alien warrior was brought onboard his ship via crewmember Kane being impregnated, Dallas was captured by the alien, and cocooned in the bowels of his own ship. (A): Played by Tom Skerritt

David

One of the 25 custodial inmates for Fiorina 161, David once saw a barrel of toxc waste ignite, putting the tug it was in into drydock for weeks. David later saw more toxic waste catch fire inside the prison facility, when they tried to use the flames to fluch out the alien running loose there. David was later killed trying to lure the alien into the leadworks, when it dropped down behind him and cored his skull. (A3): played by Pete Postlethwaite

Dietrich, Cynthia, Cpl.

Chief field medic for the team of Marines deployed to LV426, Dietrich was captured and presumably impregnated by a facehugger. Dietrich was the first to be captured by the aliens on LV426. She was lifted off the floor by an alien while she was holding her incinerator unit, and by reflex the depressed the trigger, setting Pvt. Frost on fire and igniting the ammo clips of the of the other Marines. (A2SE): Played by Cynthia Scott.

Derelict Ship

Located on LV246, just beyond the Ilyium mountain range, about 35-40km from the Hadley's Hope complex. The derelict ship, configured in the shape of a horseshoe, contained a large hive of alien eggs, along with the fossilized body of what was presumably a crewmember, known as "The Pilot". The Nostromo landed on LV426 in 2122 after receiving what was thought to be a distress call from the derelict ship. After the reactor in the Hadley's Hope complex exploded, it was assumed the derelict ship was shielded from the nuclear explosion by the Ilyium mountains. in 2189, Weyland-Yutani sent another research team to the Derelict, but after another atmosphere processor explosion, the research complex, along with the Derelict, were destroyed. (A, A2SE)

Derelict Ship

Dillon, Leonard

One of 25 custodial inmates at the Fiorina 161 prison facility. Dillon, an openly religious man, cared greatly for his fellow inmates, or "brothers". When a mysterious woman named Ellen Ripley crashed at the facility in an EEV unit, however, Dillon's world was turned upside down. Dillon, who at first showed hostility towards Ripley, was forced to work alongside her to stop an alien that had gotten loose in the complex. Dillon came up with the initial plan to trap the alien in theleadworks, and use a piston to push it into the mold. Dillon also promised to kill Ripley after the alien was dead, since Ripley discovered that a Queen embryo was growing inside her. Dillon was forced to go back on his promise when the alien didn't want to stay in the mold. Dillon helped lure the alien into the leadworks, and later used himself as bait so that Ripley could escape from the mold. Dillon was killed when tons of boiling hot lead was dumped into the mold onto the alien. (A3): Played by Charles Dutton

Disc

The disc is one the more powerful weapons used by the predator. The disc is strong enough to cut through multiple targets with one throw. When the blade cuts through its victim is cauterizes the wound with a shower of sparks. The disc also acts like a boomerang, returning to the predator by the push of a button. The blade is attached to the hip of the predator when it’s not in use. (AvP).

Distephano, Vincent, Pvt

One of the many military officers onboard the Auriga, Distephano was unable to escape from the ship when 13 warrior aliens broke out of their cages. Distephano then opted to stay close to the smuggler crew of the Betty, and then escaped from the Auriga on their ship. Distephano was killed by the Newborn alien onboard the Betty as it left the Auriga. (A4): Played by Raymond Cruz.

Drake, Mark, Pvt.

Drake was one of two M56 smartgun operators for the team of Marines deployed to LV426. Drake was very good friends with with PFC Vasquez, the other smartgun operator, but was killed when he was splashed with acid by a dying alien as he tried to board an APC, and was left behind by the surviving Marines as they rode away in the APC. (A2SE): Played by Mark Rolston

Drone Alien

Also known as a worker alien, they hold the same position as that held by workers in a beehive or ant colony, which is to gather supplies, scout for new territory, or defend the hive. See also: "Xenomorph". (A2SE)

Dropship

A variation of the UD-4 dropship, this large cargo-carrying vessel is in use by the USCM. The current model used is the UD-4L "Cheyenne" dropship. The UD-4L has VTOL capability, as well as plays a closecombat gunship role. It has a 103.6 cubic meter payload bay, and has a tri-skid undercarriage landing assembly. The principle framework is made from superplastic-formed diffusion-bonded metal matrix composites (MMC). The payload bay is 9.5m long by 4.5m wide by 2.4m high, with a 3.92m wide loading ramp, which extends from the back of the bay. The loading ramp can easily accommodate a M577 APC (with turret stowed). The spacious pressurized cockpit features two crew positions, one for the pilot, the other for the weapons officer. Both crew sit in ejection seats, certified for use at any altitude below 10,000 meters and speeds below Mach 1. The main fuselage of the UD-4L also features mounting points for the main weapons pods and the secondary weapons bay. The main weapons pods are attached to cross-folded pylons mounted just in front of the ramrocket intake. The UD-4L runs off of two types of powerplants. The main engines are a pair of TF-900 turbines. High-speed high-altitude flight is handled by the other set of engines, which are aft-mounted TF-220/A-14 ramrockets. Top speed of the ramrockets is upward of Mach 12. The UD-4L can house a variety of hypervlocity missiles in its folding-wing assembly. (A2SE)

Drydock

Term used to describe a repair bay where severely damaged starships are placed for emergency repairs. (A, A3)

Call, Annalee

A newcomer to the smuggler crew of the Betty, Call really wanted to kill the clone of Ellen Ripley before the Queen alien embryo inside it could be removed onboard the Auriga. When this objective could not be completed, Call tried to escape the Auriga with her shipmates, but was shot in the chest by the scientist Dr. Wren. Upon being shot, it was discovered that Call was a Second Generation synthetic human, designed and built by robots. Call escaped from the Auriga in the Betty, and got to see Earth for the first time. (A4): Played by Winona Ryder

Celtic Predator

One of the Predator hunting pack discovered during Weyland's expedition to the hidden Pyramid in the Antartic. Celtic was killed durng the battle against the Aliens in the Pyramid. (AvP)

Chest Burster

When the embryo has completed it's period of development inside of the host, it emerges into the next stage in it's life. The burster has built up enough strength into order to tear out of the body cavity inside of the host. The host experiences a great deal of pain during this procedure, resulting in convulsions and loss of all rational thought. This process usually results in the death of the host, which in all practical means isn't all the greatest of way to ensure the reproduction of the species. It would be more efficient if the host were reusable for many aliens, but due to the aliens violent nature, it is only fitting for it to cause death upon birth. (A, A2SE, A3, A4. Avp)

Christie

A large man, known for not trusting anyone, Christie worked onboard the Betty. Christie's sidearm of choice was a dual set of wrist-mounted pistols. Christie was killed when an alien warrior spit acid in his face while he was on a ladder onboard the Auriga. He cut himself free from fellow crewmember Vreiss, and plunged down into a pool of water. (A4): Played by Gary Dourdan.

Clemens, Johnathan, Dr

Primary medical officer in the Fiorina 161 prison facility, Clemens was addicted to morphine, and after a 36-hour stretch in an operating room, Clemens became drunk, and got called on duty after a boiler room explosion on a fuel station. Clemens caused the death of 11 people after he prescribed a wrong form of painkiller, and was sentenced to 7 years in prison, at Fiorina 161.. After Clemens served his time there, he opted to stay behind. Clemens treated Ellen Ripley after her EEV unit crashed on the planet, and he performed the autopsey on Newt Jorden. Clemens was killed while treating Ripley when an alien attacked him from behind. (A3): Played by Charles Dance

Cloaking Suit

The cloaking suit is the ultimate in stealth technology. By bending light waves around the wearer, the suit makes them practically invisible. However, it doesn't grant true invisibility. An alert opponent would be able to notice the heat wave-like shimmer, especially noticeable when the wearer is moving. The suit does not function well (if at all) immersed in water, and may be ineffective in environments saturated with material surrounding the wearer such as fog, rain, or dust. Only mounted weapons are effected by the cloak. This includes concealed weapons like retracted wrist blades, collapsed spears or other weapons kept hidden by backpacks and so forth. (AvP)

Connors, Joe

Connors was a member of the security sent to investigate the pyramid found under the Antartic. He was one of the members guarding the tunnel to the pyramid that was killed by the hunting pack of Predators (AvP)

Crowe, Tip, Pvt

Private Crowe was one of the Marines sent to investigate a communications breakoff with LV426. Crowe was killed when a legion of aliens came out of hiding and slaughtered the Marines in an alien hatchery. (A2SE): played by Tip Tipping

Crawler

Standard type of A.T.V. as used by the Jorden family (A2SE)

Cryotube

Also known as a hypersleep chamber, this device is used to stop the negative effect of faster-than-light spacetravel, such as premature aging. Cryotubes are standard on most spacefaring vessels. (A, A2SE, A3)

Bass, Pavel

Bass was a member of the security sent to investigate the pyramid found under the Antartic. He was one of the members guarding the tunnel to the pyramid that was killed by the hunting pack of Predators (AvP) Played by Pavel Bezdek

Betty

A commercial freighter, it was unlicensed. It was owned by a crew of 6 rogue smugglers, hired to transport stolen cryotubes to the Auriga for a "military" experiment. When the aliens escaped onboard the Auriga, 3 of the smugglers were killed, but the 3 survivors used the Betty to escape from the Auriga before it was destroyed. (A4)

Bishop 341-B

A Hyperdyne systems android assembled on LX469, he was stationed on board the Sulaco when it travelled to LV426. Bishop accompanied a team of Colonial Marines to the planet, and later called in a second drop ship to rescue the surviving Marines. A qualified APC and drop ship pilot, Bishop was torn in half by an alien Queen. Ellen Ripley reconnected Bishop, but he requested to remain offline, saying that he "..could be reworked, but he'd never be top of the line. He'd rather be nothing". Bishop 341-B was designed by a Weyland-Yutani employee of the same name. (A2SE, A3): Played by Lance Henriksen.

Bishop, Michael

The human designer of the Bishop 341-B synthetic human, he worked for the Weyland-Yutani company. Michael Bishop went to the prison facility Fironia 161 to attempt to remove a Queen embryo from Ellen Ripley's chest, but instead was clubbed in the back of the head by an inmate by the name of Aaron, and was forced to watch as Ripley leapt into a furnace, killing herself and the Queen embryo. (A3): Played by Lance Henriksen

Boris, Jan

Boris was a member of the security sent to investigate the pyramid found under the Antartic. He was one of the members guarding the tunnel to the pyramid that was killed by the hunting pack of Predators. (AvP) Played by Jan Pavel Filipensky.

Brett, S.E.

Engineer's Mate onboard the Nostromo, one of the primary words in his vocabulary was "right". Brett worked under Parker, who was Chief Engineer on the Nostromo. When an alien embryo burst from crewmember Kane's chest, Brett went with Parker and Lt. Ellen Ripley to find it, thinking it was about the size of a housecat. When the Nostromo's cat, Jones, set off Brett's motion tracker, he went off to get a hold of Jones, so that he wouldn’t set off the tracker again. However, Brett found that the embryo had grown into a full-grown warrior alien, and Brett was killed by it. (A): Played by Harry Dean Stanton.

Bug Stomper

The call sign of the Sulaco's number 1 Dropship (A2SE)

Burke, Carter J

An employee of the Weyland-Yutani Corporation, he was commissioned to accompany a team of Colonial Marines to LV426. Upon discovering the alien colony there, he planned to have Ellen Ripley and Newt Jorden impregnated, and the Marines killed, so that alien specimens could get past Earth quarantine. When this plan failed, Burke attempted to escape the Marines and the aliens, but was captured by the alien drones. Burke later killed himself with a grenade. (A2SE): Played by Paul Reiser
