The different types of masks type I think it is because the predators took different path of weapon mastery.
The ones with the wrist blade speciality got the meaner and scarier mask then the others.
And the decorations on their masks is in their rituals I think but only for those that hunted the xenomorphs , as I didn't see the predators marked their masks when in the other movies predator1 and predator2.
