This is a report on something especially peculiar that happened aboard The Melanie, the Dark Blood Organization Headquarters. There is only one rule on the ship, and that is not to clone yourself while you are still alive. One day, however, the leader of this wonderful bunch of misbreeds thought to himself "Wait goddamnit, i'm the leader!" And so began his quest to fight against the ultimate opponent: himself.

Against the AI's protests, Xeuss ordered the ship to use her equipment as she had been instructed never to do, and a few hours later, The Melanie had two leaders. Both with the same thoughts, both with the same experience, save the few hours of waiting since the beginning of the cloning process, which the first Xeuss had spent in his room, sleeping. Both were extremely thrilled to see each other - that is, to see themselves - but there was no time for any long, insightful talk. Without saying anything, they both rushed to the unfinished arena.

It was a large, empty room, with several terraforming tools scattered about. The two hybrid leaders positioned themselves at each of the two entrances to the arena. Unable to clone the weapons too, one was wielding the pulse rifle and the other the pistol, but both had a hunting knife. They stared at each other in anticipation. This time only, "anticipation" was the most proper word, because each knew what the other wanted and how he wanted to get it.

"So, it is time." Xeuss said to Xeuss.

"Indeed it is!" Xeuss replied. "Let us not waste it."

"As one of our favourite songs says - don't waste your time, or time will waste you!"

"Hahah, how ironic though, that it is precisely ourselves that we're in such a rush to waste."

"No, no, no, no rush. We'll make mistakes. However..."

"However..."

Both of them had said it at the same time. They were looking at each other with the same expression on their identical faces. One with a hand behind his back, ready to use the pulse rifle; the other with the hand on his pistol - both of them ready to dodge, roll and duck while shooting, both knowing exactly what the other would do in his place.

"However," the first one continued, "in order to kill, we must make mistakes. Mistakes that the other..."

"... cannot possibly..."

"... foresee!"

BANG!

A shot from the pistol ended the discussion Xeuss was having with himself and started a fast, almost undecipherable battle. Both were shooting, both were dodging, running around each other through the gunsmoke in the deafening sound of the gunfire. Their minds were working at full capacity, each thinking for both of them at the same time. It was like shooting at a mirror that bounced the bullets right back.

Their clips emptied exactly at the time they had anticipated. Both of them stopped to let the smoke clear and look at each other. Both of them were untouched. This time they didn't feel like talking. They knew what was happening and a certain degree of frustration could be read on their faces. At that moment, the question on both of their minds was, ...

"How do I kill myself?"
