Heh just kidding. But seriously, I've only seen the movie and that's it. I might watch the commentary later anyway, but what was so bad about it?

This is not an understatement: I cannot finish AVPR. I can't! As soon as any of the human characters are introduced it just sickens me, I swear most of the dialog for them was taken from a bad 80's TV show. Thats what happens when you hire effects people to direct an entire movie, all they focus on is the damn effects, and as we've seen from AVPR: THAT DOESN'T MAKE THE MOVIE BETTER!

I just skip towards the fights, so that i don't have to listen to the rest of whats going on. I fell asleep the first 3 times i watched it, started to fast forward the boring parts

Y'know, it's really saddening. AvPR looked really promising. But in truth, the FIRST AvP was so much better. Okay. So the Predators didn't follow the usual idea of appearance and all that... But y'know, I personally liked their look. Apart from their faces.

I realize the movie is about Alien versus Predator. It doesn't say Alien versus Predator versus Human. But that doesn't mean that you add humans whose only purpose in the movie is to become meat for the slaughter.

Personally, I was devastated after watching the movie. That's how bad it sucked. It might have actually been the worst movie I've ever seen, on a rivalry with Epic Movie.

The predalien was the only exciting thing about this movie, the moment they fucked THAT up, i stopped caring enough. I don't compare it to the rest of the alien/predator movies. I think it's a pretty good movie for something oiginal. Just like the new Prince of Persia. I don't compare it with the Sands of Time series. I think it's a pretty good game, but... if i had to compare it with the great series before it, i wouldn't know what to say.

when i saw AVPR it was so rubbish they messed up the predator as well as the aliens and predalien and i hate new people always coming in they talk too much and u know at the end the had the preds hand cannon if they hire they same people for that other movie i m going to swear for a whole hour.

They didn't mess up the predator and the aliens, the interaction between them seemed exagerrate at times, but bith the Wolf and the drones looked great and acted in most scenes like you'd expect aliens and predators to act. The predalien was complete bullshit, colouring the facehuggers differently was complete bullshit. Apart from that, i didn't mind the human characters, i was expecting some kind of Freddy vs. Jason kind of movie and that's what i got. So yea, for a sequel to Freddy vs. Jason, it's a pretty good movie, but as far as the alien/predator franchises go, can't compare.

im not saying your points of view are wrong(every one is entitled to there own points of view),but i liked both of the avp movies,i got confused at parts
but i try not to look at the wrong in something,and try to see why they did what they did.

...Hey, at least AVPR and Epic Movie weren't as bad as Snakes on a Train and Alien Vs Hunter.

I think the biggest problem is the fact that SCi-Fi gets handed to young inexperienced fanboys these days. With respect to the greats, its always important that we pay tribute to them. If it gets to the point were you openly admit your trying to emulate there direction you should not be in the business of Directing motion pictures.

Movie Goers and movie makers are a different class of being and they should not be aloud to cross paths, when they do movies like avp are created

Watch the commentary to avp to listen to paul anderson discuss the success of james cameron and ridley scott all day. When James Cameron got Aliens did he stand around and praise ridley, then set about remaking his movie...... HELL NO! He took the baton and ran in a completely different direction and made his own movie. David Fincher did the same.

As James Cameron said when he was making Aliens: you want to have elements from the original movie, but this sequel needs to be a movie in itself, not just the first movie over again with different characters. The sequel needs to be able to stand alone as if it was the original movie.


If more directors followed that rule, sequels would be much more popular even more so than they are today.

I actually think that Greg & Colin deserve more credit than they get for AVP Requiem. Granted, it wasn't in the league of the earlier Alien & Predator films, but I think the creatures & overall atmosphere of the movie were good.

Some of the scenes with Wolf stalking the aliens through the darkened city were brilliant, & other parts such as the forest at night & the predator spaceship were excellent. The obvious flaws in the film being that the human characters weren't very likable, & the aliens were watered-down to become cannon fodder in most scenes. The predalien, though heavily criticized, I thought was pretty good. It could have been better, but it could also have been much worse.

I think the Strauses have potential in the movie industry, as long as they aren't handed any big-name franchises in the foreseeable future.

PREDATOR V2 - Exactly, i had his quote in my mind when i was writing that. And hes 100% correct.

Cant really agree Stalk, the movie was close to unwatchable. In most cases to disrespect a movie logically you have to know what your talking about. In this case you dont. Its is literally as ridiculously simple as 'the movie was too dark'. Ergo, nothing else matters, as directors who are in charge of the visual aspects of the picture and everything we see in the final movie they failed miserably, it dosent matter what else they did, they failed ....

Also, i do video production myself (no movies, just music vids at the minute, Maybe one day) so when i was on apple.com reading updates on the new Final Cut Studio (Industry Standard software for video editing) There was a clip of the McDonald brothers talking about their experiences shooting digitally for avpR and using Final Cut for post production. This is normal, as the director will sit with the video editor and talk him through exactly how the film should be edited. Hilariously it cuts to a shot of one of the brothers pointing at the screen and telling the editor 'Now ya see, i need this a little darker'. I can just imagine that 100,000 times over and thats how we got AVPR

Horrible film, Not a single positive. Creatures already looked great in rez and AVP. Nothing new was achieved. Even the dilaogue was stolen from the previous movies lmfao

I wouldn't call it the worst movie I ever saw (that goes to Ultraviolet) it's certainly up there. The worst part is that there isn't any one thing about it that sucks; everything is poorly done.

I honestly felt insulted as I left the theater. The B.S have no understanding of what made the older movies good, which is why they're NOT FUCKING DIRECTORS!

This is going to sound weird, but just bear with me: AvPR was like almost like porn.

1. The script is a formality. It only pretends to have a story until the 'action' starts (which is almost instantly)

2. There are no real actors; just good-looking people to perform the required actions (getting killed violently in this case)

3. It's filled with what can only be described as money shots. "PRREDATOR SHIP! PREDATOR VISION! PREDALIEN! NOW HE'S SKINNING SOMEONE LIKE IN THE FIRST ONE OMG!"

4. It's poorly shot with bad lighting.

5. It clearly rips off numerous other movies.

You know what I just realised? It would have been better as a porno. At least that would have been different.

Hahaha, actually DD I can agree completely with that metaphor. Lol your right you don't really give a shit about the dialog, plot, or characters because its worthless, all your waiting for is the action, lol that was beautiful we need to quote you and post that up somewhere.

You know what? Post of the year, hands down. That seriously had me laughing, mainly because it was so true.

When will people realize that, with things like this, if you aren't going to do it right, why do it at all? What are you doing it for? For the sake of getting something done, regardless of the outcome? For money? That's just low. You know who else does a poor job just for money? Hookers. That's right. But I'm not going to take that back, the movie's already been compared to pornography, so I'm comparing everyone who worked on it to prostitutes.
