FireHunter vs. Tawganator

FireHunter, Xenomorph, 9 years ago

The city had been taken over, that much was clear. Hive webbing spilled from the hole in the floor of the Empire State building and covered the art deco interior with an organic, gruesome pattern that would fill a human's nightmares.

Out on the streets all was still, the same substance that covered the inside of the buildings had also covered the outside and spilled out onto the road, broken bodies hung limply in the Hive Resin with their ribcages burst open along the sides of the buildings. The only noise was a stereo somewhere in one of the solar-powered cars, blasting out 1950s rock and roll in the silence, the energy and life of the music was eerie in the deathly stagnancy of the once-bustling New York streets.

A group of survivors, clad in thick clothes and face-masks, emerged running from the doors of the dilapidated Chrysler Building, out among resin-choked cars and rotting bodies, where even the carrion birds dared not go. Deep and resonant growls echoed in the building behind them as the creature they'd awoken stirred and ran after them, a fourteen-foot tall harbinger of death came barging through the doors behind them, sending the door frame flying in pieces behind its prey. Heavy footsteps of a seven-ton war machine made the cars shudder in their Hive Resin casings.

The humans didn't scream, they only ran. One of them tripped and was subsequently caught by the beast, grabbed by the ankle and hurled like a baseball over the heads of his peers, his bones making an all-too-audible crunch on impact.

The colossal red-black titan was quickly catching up to them, crushing everything beneath its thundering footsteps as it charged forward, swiping a second human out of the way as it picked up more speed, the man slammed into the corner of a nearby building and his body exploded on impact in a shower of gore and innards.

FireHunter leaped, soaring over the final human and landing directly in front of them, staring the human in the eyes with a blind head as she stumbled and fell, knowing her doom was upon her as the long, bony tail, tipped with a three-foot blade capable of slicing a man in half, raised high above the beast's hunched back, high above its long, mobile spines, and high above its hideous, fanged head. Mandibles slowly twitched and stretched as the monster advanced slowly on the woman, tail poised like a scorpion. She didn't move, the beast was upon her now, looming over like a deadly black cloud of chitin, muscle and bone.

FireHunter grabbed his prey around the waist and hoisted her into the air, standing up straight and howling into her face. Promptly it tossed her skywards and made a show of slicing her straight down the middle with its tail. Blood showered the Hive Resin and FireHunter's mighty head.

Again, FireHunter roared, the unearthly noise overpowered the 50s rock and roll and reverberated through the city.

There are monsters in New York. In its buildings, on its streets and in its parks. Right now there are monsters in its sewers. Nightmares of black and grey and teeth and claws. They work to spread their Resin and expand their Hive like cancer in a patient. The world in the sewers are dark with what little light that enters reflecting off its murky waters. It's just enough to know that they are there. The monsters move in almost silence with shallow breaths being the only sound hear able from them.

Loud thumps from above echoes throughout the sewer. The monsters paused and one of them moves forward and stands up. Its thin body reaches just over seven feet tall. From his cracked and winkled dome shaped head down to the bent and twisted tubes that sprout from his back. His elongated hands and arms and the blade at the end of his tail. Tawganator stands out from the rest of the Drones. Through a near toothless smile he hisses a signal for the others to move.

The monsters move with purpose as they make their way to an open hole to the surface. Tawganator is the first one out and is immediately followed by the remaining eight. The ground shakes following an even louder thump. They weave through the abandoned cars that strewn the streets as they sprint towards the source. An ungodly roar stopped Tawganator and his group in their tracks. Tawganator knew it was to late then but continued the group forward.

FireHunter, standing among a display of freshly torn body parts of what should have been hosts. Tawganator let out a frustrated hiss. The Drones cautiously approached to gather the remains as food for the hive.

FireHunter turned towards the nine Xenomorphs that had emerged from beneath the streets, the leading one, Tawganator, didn't seem happy with its presence at all, letting out a hiss of frustration towards his superior, the pack of drones approached the Alpha, though it could sense no hostile intent from the eight, Tawganator gave off an air of competition, as he carried the hormone that would later lead to a metamorphosis.

FireHunter growled again, another deep and resonant sound that rumbled deep in its chest. The Drones scurried around it as they collected the pieces of human that FireHunter had left behind, however, FireHunter stared Tawganator down, advanced slowly and slowly sped up until it was sprinting full pelt at its perceived competitor, roaring and howling.

FireHunter wasn't often a pleasant Alpha to have, in the absence of human or yautja prey it would grow bored, and grotesque displays of power against its own kind were common. It could be tactical, cunning and ruthless, and commanded the Hive in complex and devastating ways, bringing ruin to groups of hosts. Other times, it would prefer to take on groups by itself, and use its strength and size to its advantage.

This was one of those times, as it thundered towards Tawganator through the street and left the servant Drones to their work.

The giant that is FireHunter moved with speed that would seem almost impossible for a creature of its size and more than enough power to level a house in seconds. He was truly a force of nature. Tawganator would be nothing more than a bug on the windshield of a truck if he were to try to take on such a beast. Tawganator was quick to react, jumping onto the wall of the nearby building and scaling as fast as he could.

FireHunter leapt towards the retreating Tawganator but the Drone was just quick enough to avoid the beast as it crashed into the building. The impact caused much of the remaining windows to shatter and sharp shards of glass fell from above onto the two. Tawganator took advantage of the situation as FireHunter attempted to maintain careful grip on the delicate building. He struck at FireHunter with his tail trying to pierce his tough armour like hide.

Desperate for some kind of advantage against his current Alpha, Tawganator called for help from the Drones below. FireHunter gave a look that was much cause for concern.

Pieces of the wall were crumbling beneath FireHunter's massive hands as it chased the drone. Tawganator's tail lashed out and left small and insignificant scratches in FireHunter's tough exoskeleton, except for one stab that pierced through FireHunter's forehead and lodged in the shell, drawing blood and an irritated growl from the Alpha as the blade wrenched free in a spurt of yellow acid.

Tawganator would need to be closer than that to do real damage with his tail, and he'd need more leverage. FireHunter dragged its massive body up the side of the building, reaching forward to grasp Tawganator and crush him with one huge hand, and the side of the building crumbled underneath its hand, sending the titan plummeting down to the ground.

The intensely heavy xenomorph landed on a stationary van, crushing the vehicle and sending glass all over the choked street.

Tawganator was hard to catch.

The giant FireHunter crashed hard to the ground with a van to break his fall. Tawganator called again to his Drones to attack FireHunter and this time three of them complied. FireHunter grabbed the first one and squeezed it hard enough that its insides burst from out of it.

Tawganator took the chance to use this distraction to flee into the interior of the building. Hoping that the reduced space would greatly reduce FireHunters mobility and give him some sort of advantage over the brute. Or even better, that FireHunter would choose not to pursue him and give up in wanting to destroy Tawganator for at least today.

OOC- Sorry it took so long but suffering huge writers block (still am, hence there not being much added) and many distractions.

OOC - That's alright, happens to the best of us! I've deleted your OOC post and added it to your original post to keep it neat.

The fact that Tawganator could compel the Drones to attack FireHunter only served to enrage it further as the insides of the Drone coated its massive hand.

The other two Drones backed down at a mental grip from FireHunter, it didn't want them attacking Tawganator either. Tawganator was officially its enemy, and it tore straight into the interior of the building after its quick foe, carving a tunnel in the dilapidated walls. Tawganator barrelled through room after room and startled a group of humans who'd camped down for the time being, their eyes grew wide as the Xenomorph sprinted straight over their barricades, ignoring them.

The rumble that followed made their heart rates quicken, and they were quickly buffeted with debris and an ear-shattering roar from the enormous FireHunter. It was hunched down to fit beneath the relatively low ceiling, and not enough, the ceiling above it bulged upwards and fell behind it, chunks of plaster and concrete bouncing from its long tail, the screams from the humans were drowned out by the noise of the chaos that flooded the building.

FireHunter had lost Tawganator in the maze of hallways and dead rooms, and instead went on a rampage through the building, ancient and unkept walls crumbled before its might as it tore through them.
