A note about the recent influx of bots

Only the webmaster (for whatever reason) can get the IP adress banned, so we'll have to wait.

I'd like to know what started it, I don't know how many you've seen DD, but on average I've deleted at least 2 a week.

If you look at recent visits, there will be several users who have the word "MESSAGE" and nothing else in their profile, so i guess they must be bots.

Possibly time to bring back the activation time for members on the Forums, as much as i hate to say it thats what its come down to just about.

Added a validation code to the registration form.

I hope this will reduce bot activity.

^ It's all the same person from what I could gather, so that might not be needed.

We just need to get the IP banned, which only P can do.

Nikkie can't sign in, because it said

Username field can only contain alphanumeric characters dashes..

Gods, I am to tired for this.

But, is there a way to get around that, without doing a new name?

She can just make a new account and transfer everything from the old one, we've all been through this at least once before, the ones who made accounts with other than alphanumerical characters.

Yes, email me the old and new (with valid chars) username.

Edit: There was a problem with the update of the validation module (the underscores werent being accepted). Should be working now.
