About Wolf/PredAlien fight

In my personal opinion, Wolf should have kept the rest of his weapons to fight the PredAlien, Why did Wolf fight the PredAlien with his bare hands. I dont understand why Wolf stopped using his weapons in the battle, he could of won faster if he used all of his weapons.
