Alien 3 question

in alien 3 the alien got dumped in molten lead and got sprayed with water from the pipes and it exploded,why did that happen,i think it's because of the temperature change.i posted this in the hive forum,and navyspaz said i should post it in the mainboard.

Go and boil your kettle .... Pour some boiling hot water into a pyrex glass (Pyrex glass can withstand amazing temperatures, much like the xenos skin)
Now empty the boiling hot water out and quicky pour some cold water in ........ What happens ?
WEll dont really do it incae you hurt yourself, but the glass will explode .... ergo, your rite
