As far as speculation goes, it is the queen embryos that normally take 24 hours to chestate, the average drones are said to take 8 - 12 hours according to most website research. Though on the point of the film timeframe, you do indeed have a good point TDN.

Actually, I believe the original gestation time is around 20-24 hours. I remembered Parker and Brett said that it was going to take them 24 hours to fix the ship after they've landed, and the chestbursting scene happened after the ship had taken off, meaning 24 hours have passed.

Yes, they didn`t have their masks on *I get blushed* (if the preds can blush...) Sorry, I did rashed assumptions without checking the simple facts. Still I consider that the preds were careless. Well, if they thought that the queen wouldn`t kill a host of hers offspring...

Damn. Maybe I should watch the whole movie in slow motion. I`ve seen it about 10-15 times and still I haven`t seen all of it... Inow what I mean. For example I don`t remember the humans` names: only Weyland and Verheiden (Verheiden is shouted out so many times during the movie so the name is engraved into my brain...) But I know the preds names;) Lol They use a lot of human characters who the audience can relate to and I feel affinity to preds. That`s pretty weird;)

I noticed some hilarious thing in the end. When the Leader stands beside the Scar`s body and the light comes behind him, he looked like an angel (!) within his crystal clear camouflage! Oh, I must be pretty badly mixed up `cos I see the pred as angel... In reality they seem as things who have came from the inner circle of hell...

Maybe somebody should punch me so I`d get back to the Earth`s surface...
