It's worth it, it explains things in so much more detail, there's more fight scenes than the film too, well worth getting.

One of the other predators had a predalien burst from it but scar blew it to pieces with his plasma caster.

Those names were just invented for marketing schemes for the toys, the only name given in the book is 'scar' simply because of the marking on his head gear.

Damn. They have missed a big part of the story. I would have liked to see the original story in the movie - even if it would have lasted 3 hours or more...
