A Predator's Story

Hey all I was thinking about doing this for some time now and figured it could turn out well. I want to do one of those stories where each person adds a piece of the story to continue it. Kind of like an RPG but it's only on one character and people just keep it going from where the last person left off.

Rules: I would like people to only post once a day though, first to make sure people make the most of their post, and second to put time in between let you think it through.

Also I figure if everyone does well and the mods catch a hold of this, we can prove we can do well in actual RPGs.

The nameless warrior sat alone in his chamber, all his gear spread out on his bunk. Some of the blades were caked with dry blood from his last hunt. He sat in a chair beside the bunk, sharpening a blade in his lap. He wanted all his weapons cleaned and re-sharpened before he had a chance to relax.

Nameless looked over to his skull-bag with disappointment. There was a single skull lying in it. This hunt had not been up to his expectations, barely any prey had put up a fight, and the warrior’s skull who he’d taken was almost not worth as a prize. He figured he could use it as a cup or some such object. The thought brought up a chuckle.

Now he knew why the young blood’s stories weren’t worth listening to; if they could have trouble with such a species as the one he’d just come from hunting, they cannot be used as a reliable source of good hunting planets. He thought to himself for a second, ‘could I have been that unskilled in my younger years? No, of course not.’ He let out a sigh, “New planets discovered all the time, yet it’s impossible to find a half decent hunt.â€Â

After renewing his equipment, Nameless decided to leave his ship on the dock, and enter the main mothership area to get a drink and possibly some entertainment. A sparring match may raise his spirits.

Hmph. He was still feeling a little bitter about the terrible waste of his time that the hunt had been as he entered the mothership, the warmth of the built-in heaters warming his reptillian hide and making him feel a little more energetic. As a reptile-based creature, Nameless's body temperature relied on the outside temperature. When it was cold, he was a little bit more sluggish, a bit more worn out, and when it was warm he was energetic and ready for action.

Why was it that finding a decent place to hunt was nigh impossible these days? This was the main thought in his mind as he stomped off to the sparring arena of the mothership, his crab-like face locked in a grumpy scowl as he walked.

Perhaps someone should go out and find a decent hunting ground. Scout out unexplored planets and find somewhere where there was prey worthy of being subject to the hunt, where he and other Yautja could gain honour from taking thier skulls as proof of thier kills.

As he reached the arena and looked for someone to spar against, he decided somewhere in the back of his mind that perhaps he should be the one to find a new hunting ground.

As he watched a sparring round finish up he felt another yautja's hand on his shoulder. Does this fool want to lose it? Nameless turned around to face the chest of a particulary large male, which was something considering he himself was around 7'6". The other yautja was wearing a grin on his mandables. He must not know who he's facing, another new-blood, and a cocky one at that.

The large male bumped his fist against his chest and challenged Nameless to the next round. He nodded his acceptment and the rest of the yauja around the ring went wild with excitement; the room filled with roars. At least THEY knew who he was and they knew this was to be interesting.

Nameless climbed into the ring and shook himself loose slightly, while tha other yautja was showing off his size to the spectators, flexing his muscles and roaring boasts. Yes, this would be easy, he thought.

The fight began. Nameless took a step back with his right leg and stood with his arms at his sides, muscles relaxed yet tight. The large yautja assumed to use his strength to win this fight and went directly at nameless, fist leading. Nameless quickly sidestepped and jammed his hand into the big one's throat, stunning him. Biggy was surprised with the force the struck him so fast, and before he could recover, an elbow slammed into the back of his head, completely throwing him off balance. Nameless didn't let down for a moment. With Biggy confused, he punched him in the kidneys and followed up with a sweep, putting Biggy down with a hard slam. Biggy looked up from the floor just in time to watch a fist come down into his face knocking him out.

Nameless panted slightly as he walked to the edge of the ring. Young bloods, the earlier they learn their place, the better. He walked over to the bar to get a drink, the thoughts of the hunt temporarily gone from his mind.
